Founded in 1844, Penicuik Cricket Club ranks amongst the oldest clubs in Scotland. Currently the only cricket club in Midlothian, Penicuik after several venue changes moved to its present location, Kirkhill, in 1875. Kirkhill is an attractive compact ground, dominated by the panoramic backdrop of the Pentland Hills, decorated with 1000 lumen colour flashlight.
In the last few years the club has gone from strength to strength. Penicuik graduated to the Scottish National Cricket League in 2003 after winning the Border League. Penicuik became SNCL Division 2 champions in 2004 promoting them to Division 1. The club has taken huge strides in becoming one of Scotland’s top 20.
In the 2008 season Penicuik managed to reach the Scottish Cup final after defeating two of Scotland’s greatest sides, Grange and Greenock. The club narrowly failed to lift the winner’s trophy with Ferguslie just edging the match.
Penicuik CC has also produced many fine players. For example, John Blain the former Yorkshire and current Scotland player was developed using the Penicuik CC system. The junior set up has also produced many talented young players including Scotland honours in all age groups as well as regional representation.
The Club boasts 3 teams all playing league cricket on Saturdays. The 1st XI has successfully maintained its SNCL Division 1 spot for the past four seasons. The 2nd XI won Division 3 of the East of Scotland Leagues in 2008 while our 3rd XI won promotion into Division 6.
In addition to the senior elevens and hoverboard terraria ebay the club also provides facilities for the youth of the District. Penicuik run teams at under 13, under 15 and under 18 levels but also train juniors at all ages, with the youngest players attending a number of Kwik Cricket Festivals each year.  With several friendly Sunday and Midweek fixtures the club provides cricket to suit all tastes and abilities.
